WILLIAM 'S BLOG: Why Football not Soccer?

After every soccer match is held such as the FIFA WC, Copa America, etc I my self often see a comment like this: " Football is Life". Am i right?

Why they call it football instead of saying soccer? Or may be they think that it is a ball that is played by our foot so it is called Football. HAHAHA.

So, the term soccer is made from England in the year 1800s refer to an association football. The main reason is to clear all of the confusion between soccer and rugby. Because, at that time, these 2 words can be refer as football. These 11 country called it as soccer
1. Canada
2. South Africa
3. Ireland and North Ireland
4. Lesotho
5. Japan
6 Australia
7. New Zealand
8. The Philippines
9. PNG alias Papua New Guinea
10. Fiji.

But, mostly in Europe,Central and South America, Africa, Asian, and Middle East. They called it as football.

If we see from above, actually these 2 words are just the same. But logically they are different. Because the tackles which is legal in Football is reckless in soccer and counted as a foul. And Soccer wear jersey, shinguards, cleats, and shorts while football players wear uniform, shoulder pads, and helmets.
